Please help us separate our garbage!

Recently, there has been a lot of garbage not being collected at the garbage collection site.
The main reasons are:

  • Not using designated Nagoya City garbage bags

  • The two main reasons are that waste is not being sorted properly .

If your garbage is not sorted and disposed of correctly, it may not be collected or collection may be delayed.
In addition, abandoned garbage can cause bad odors and attract damage from crows and rats.

*For clusters outside of Nagoya City, please refer to the website of each local government.

(Note) When disposing of the four types of home appliances, do not hand them over to a junk removal company.

(Note) With the exception of some appliances that are not subject to the Home Appliance Recycling Law (such as PC recycling appliances and products that use fluorocarbons), they can be disposed of as bulky waste.

🔹About types of garbage bags

Nagoya City's garbage bags contain

  • household garbage bags

  • There are two types of commercial garbage bags.

The bags you use vary depending on the apartment or housing complex. Please be sure to check the bags specified by your building.
( Garbage put out in bags other than those designated will not be collected .)

🔹 Main classifications

① Burnable garbage

Kitchen waste, paper scraps, leather products, small amounts of wood chips, etc. *Plastic containers, packaging, and PET bottles are "recyclable waste."

② Non-burnable garbage

Glass, ceramics, metal, small appliances, etc.

③ Recyclable waste (please separate by type)

  • Plastic containers and packaging: Items marked with the "PLA" symbol (wash and dry)

  • Plastic bottles: Remove caps and labels

  • Paper: newspapers, magazines, cardboard boxes, paper cartons (tied up with string)

  • Bottles and cans: Rinse the contents before disposal

  • Spray cans (spray cans, cassette gas cylinders, camping cylinders)

  • Disposable lighter
